Dear Lovelies,

What exactly is Pentecost, you may ask. This year we celebrate Pentecost on May 24. It is a celebration of the Holy Spirit, coming fifty days after Easter. The first Pentecost was a celebration of the Feast of Weeks, which from Jewish tradition was a commemoration of receiving the Ten Commandments seven weeks after the great exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. Taking place after Jesus had reappeared to the disciples, equipped them for another forty days or so, and ascended into heaven, the first Pentecost took place in Jerusalem and has become known as the birth date of the Christian church. For more fun details, Acts 2 is a wonderful resource. 😊

Happy Day!
