September 7

St. Mark’s is one of nearly 8,500 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) with the opportunity to participate in a day dedicated to service: “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday on September 7. This year for “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday, we are collecting items for two local non-profits in need of supplies as well as baking and packaging goodies for the 106 Food Services employees at Huntsville Hospital!

Hospital Ministry

This month, we are asking for donations of 20 batches of a dozen cookies. Feel free to have fun and get creative – make whatever cookie you’d like to make! Please sign up online using the link in the Monday email or HERE – bring any cookie donations (labeled) to the Fellowship Hall Kitchen. We will meet to package cookies and bake a savory treat as part of the “God’s work. Our hands.” activities.

Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama

The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama provide programs, people, and pathways that teach young people how to live, lead, and serve no matter what challenges they face. Due to recent federal funding cuts, donations of materials and supplies are appreciated more than ever. We are collecting the following items: Crayons, Markers, Colored pencils, Paper, Notebooks, and Craft books.

Eighth Street Community (305 8th Street)

The Eighth Street Community located on 305 8th Street is a community of diverse disabled adults with limited financial resources, who live as a family in homes that provide opportunities to enable them to grow and engage in OUR community. Donations of household items and personal hygiene items are always appreciated! We are collecting the following items: Toilet paper, Paper towels, Dish detergent, Laundry Detergent, Shampoo, and Soap.

Please bring any donations to the donation bin in Communication Central.
