Designed to help with one-time extra needs that a family or individual might have, Blessing Basket takes monetary donations that are used towards helping people with gas, groceries, bills, etc. These donations are tax deductible, too.
Huntsville Assistance Program
This ministry provides financial assistance as well as volunteer time for the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP). HAP is an organization of churches who work together to coordinate help of all kinds and pool resources for needy and homeless individuals in the Huntsville area. This includes financial help, food pantry, clothing donations, etc.
This ministry works with and supports patients of the Clearview Cancer Institute (CCI). The patients are screened by the social workers of CCI. Primary assistance goes towards medication. Our help is a temporary answer for patients while they are waiting on disability and insurance to begin. St. Mark’s is instrumental in helping these patients while they are dealing with such a devastating disease.
This ministry supports CASA of Madison County financially. CASA of Madison County provides assistance to aging, homebound people so they are able to stay in their own homes longer than they otherwise would.
We collect gently used clothing of all shapes, ages, and sizes. These are collected and then provided to people in need, or donated to local thrift stores. We accept all clothing, jewelry, shoes and other accessories. These donations are tax deductible, too.
Visiting the Homeless
St. Mark's visits local homeless camps frequently (we try for once a month). We provide supplies, care, and encouragement to those struggling with homelessness. For more information on when the next visit is, please contact our office. This team is for adults only due to the nature of things we may find in the camps.
