St. Mark's has a team of individuals who go to Limestone County Prison a few times a year to visit with inmates. During their visit, they offer the inmates cookies and a discussion about God and Christianity.
This is a nondenominational ministry concerned with sharing the love of Christ with those in prison. Participants of Kairos attend 8 to 10 weekly meetings that build team unity. These meetings consist of prayer, scripture lessons, learning more about those incarcerated, fellowship, singing, and food. Those participants become a team that enters the correctional facility for a 4 day weekend. The team enters with prayer from many, cookies, posters, and personal letters to the inmates. During that weekend talks are given, meals are shared, inmates and team members laugh, cry, and love. Lives are touched and changed through the Holy Spirit.
If you are interested in joining the team that goes to the prison, please contact the office. Alternately you may help this ministry by baking cookies for the inmates. Look for information in our newsletter and the Sunday bulletins for information on upcoming cookie days.
