Food Pantry St. Mark's is centrally located near Huntsville Hospital and downtown Huntsville. We take pride in our food ministry, providing for those less fortunate in our community. With our current resources and donations, we provide for approximately 15 families each week. These are coordinated through the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP) and the Food Line (256-534-2424). Requests that are made before noon can usually be collected from our office on the same day. Requests made in the afternoon will be available for pickup the next business day.
We are always collecting donations! Please help us keep our community fed. Donations can be brought to the office, or left in Communication Central in the marked container. We thank you for your support.
Downtown Rescue Mission
On the third Friday of every month, at 12:30 PM, a group will go into the mission to clean the kitchen. If you would like to participate in this effort, please contact Janet Duncan.
Meals on Wheels St. Mark's was a founding member of Meals on Wheels in the Huntsville Community. Our members continue to help this ministry by delivery food on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. If you are interested in being a driver, or as a substitute driver, please contact the church office for more information.
Blessings in a Backpack Even in our community, children are going hungry. Some don't eat unless it is at school. Therefore, the public schools in Huntsville have a program to provide backpacks of food for children to take home over the weekends. St. Mark's has committed to helping 50 students who attend Martin Luther King Junior Elementary school (up the road on Meridian St) with their weekend food program.
You can help Blessings in a Backpack by donating food (100% juice boxes, Pop-tarts, packets of oatmeal, Chef-Boyardee meals, raisins, applesauce, fruit cups, pretzels, Cheez-its, Nesquick drinks, pudding cups), money, or helping us pack bags.
No child should have to worry about getting enough to eat.
Feed the Homeless Each Second Sunday, all those who are willing and able are invited to go and visit the homeless in our community, delivering food, water, dog food (where necessary) and supplies. Each month we will collect a specific item to take in addition to our normal offerings. If you would like to make a donation to this effort, we will be collecting the following: water bottles, fruit cups and snacks, canned soup and meals, sandwich crackers, granola bars.
